What A Busy Creative Year!!

I have always loved being creative. I was taught to knit by my Mum and had many a fun hour knitting squares for the Brownies; that were knitted together to make a blanket. From knitting I moved on to cross stitch as a teenager and have done many samplers as Wedding, Birthday and Anniversary gifts over many years. In 2008 we celebrated my husband's parents Golden Wedding Anniversary. I went shopping for a special card but could not find one that 'was just right'. Feeling quite frustrated I decided to try to make one myself. There my card making journey begins - in that one moment! I bought all the items needed to make this card and set about on my creation. I enjoyed the experience so much that I decided to look into setting up my own little cottage industry making cards. I did lots of research and watched lots of craft programmes to find out which particular technique would interest me most. As I'm sure many crafters will relate to, I found that I wanted to try many techniques - I love rubber stamping, dry embossing, heat embossing and have bought many products along my journey. I love using my Cuttlebug, Silhouette and using my Promarkers to colour my stamped images amongst the many other items I have purchased.

Then at the beginning of this year I discovered the world of digital card making using my much loved digital crafting software Craft Artist Professional. I had been using it's predecessor Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 and had a lot of fun producing digital scrapbooking pages using the many digital photos we had taken over the years. I had now found a new crafting passion in the form of digital scrapbooking. However, what Craft Artist allowed me to do was to take my new found passion of digital crafting and team it with my passion for card making. Craft Artist has card templates included in the program as well as many templates for scrapbook pages and photo books to name but a few.

I was asked by a family member to make a card for my Dad in February. As an experiment with my new software program I decided to include an old photograph on the card design that my Aunt had given to me. When my Aunt and my Dad saw the card they were so impressed that I have continued to receive orders for many birthdays and other occasions this year using many favourite family photos within the design.

My fantastic year has ended with many orders for cards for my favourite time of the year. At the time of posting this blog I am having great fun using many new kits from Kreative Designs By Karen to make my cards.

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous and Healthy New Year.

Happy Crafting!!

test posting

Hi this is a test posting for my blog that will detail all my crafting exploits.

Coming soon my official first post explaining how I got into card making and what other crafts I have tried and how that's helped me in my card making. Also those dreaded cards for the men folk and some of the things that have got me through the otherside of Fathers Day.
